Hello, angel.

HELLO WORLD.

My last week here in Sing a pore before I leave for holiday whoosh. On the 12th. It's been fun whee.

So Rifdi brought his D90 to Tenor one on ones yesterday and I was using it more than him.
zomg you all should see this sequence of images where he was flailing his arms around. Yes rifdi I want my GIF now please.

And then there was this 3 hours of unproductivity and switching handphones in the library with Rachall. Writing in moleskines are much funner than doing homework I guess. AT LEAST I FINISHED MY CHEM.

TODAY. Was awesome. Finished La peregrinacisuperhighnotesong during prac today. Then Jing Ye, Chii Lek, Jonphua, Johnlee and I went to seoul garden. Hendrik pangseh-ed us to go with the basses (WHICH HE LATER REGRETTED) so we met gerald in bedok MRT. Then dum dee dum insert long train ride to bugis here and we reached seoul garden! Such awesome food for 14.10. Ya I know that's a lot of money BUT the fun was worth it. Johnlee and I filled up our space with meat like somewhere between three to four times. Made jokes about Jonphua's dietary restriction so fun haha. Then we tried to find our way to marina square to crash bass outing. Took 12 and realized it doesn't go there. Then Jonphua made us stop at raffles place MRT and walk all the way there ugh.

TOOK PICTURES of the statues along the river. We placed jingye's bag on the statue's arms hahaha. and headphones on the chinese guy statue. While all these mischief is happening Gerald, the carebear with two lives left, ran away from us. Then he got lost and ended up in Ion in Orchard. Hahahahaha.

Met the Basses in the bowling alley in marina square, which ttly sucked. lanes super dry and stuff so I gave up after throwing one ball. AND THEN AND THEN AND THEN WE WATCHED NIU MOON.

Hendrik, Jonhlee and I decided to insert 'that's what she said's into appropriate moments. First few minutes there were like 3 moments haha. SO MANY CHEESY LINES. I have never watched anything with that many lines of cheese. I swear they could've made some love song lyrics with those lines. Hendrik was SMSing his girlfriend the entire movie har har.

Had stomachache near the end of the movie so I missed the last part. After the movie we stood like 20 minutes outside the bathroom making fun of New Moon and Yaosheng. Hahahaha.

I shouldstart again.

Zmg

Someone told me to blog. I guess why not. Nothing to do anyway. I'll just talk about random stuff.

Oh oh oh omg Choir blog's got 444 posts. That's like awesome. Once in a lifetime. Just wait till update for next practice come up and it's gone. Like the wind. Screw it lah.

I just got my GoVibe Martini! It's so cool my first amp. I'm so gonna treasure it. Well until I get my next one, which is when I'll resell. Whoo for second hand!

I went to City Hall MRT to meet the guy selling it. He says he dropped it and then sent it for RMA. Dropped once! The volume knob a bit tilted to one side so turning to max/min volumes will create squeaky sounds. And the I he told me not to keep the jack inside of the in/out thingies otherwise it'll break. I CAN'T BE CAREFUL. Ahh I think this tiny gem will only last like what 6 months before I need to send it back. Grrr.

Oh and I listened to it using my portapros. Like songs with bass that uses picks is super thumpy. And you can hear every single one of the beat. Ultimate nia.

I shall take pictures of it and post it on facebook. 'Cause I'm awesome like that. Yeah.
Comm meeting today was screwed. Should I listen and quit?

EH WE SHOULD ALL BE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVES.

looking at the world with apple eyes.

Instead of idling around waiting for something to happen I decided to blog, you know, since it takes some brainpower to type stuff without sounding stupid.

I think this year was one of the fastest one to pass. Started off with me finding out my sec 3 class on the first day of school, getting 11 points for CA1, getting gold with honors for SYF, Handover and getting the RM post, having fun with friends, getting into magic and duo-ing with Alex, Alex leaving Singapore, worsening L1R5 as time passed, getting 3rd in class for SA1, my first pair of headphones and the second one soon after, Speech Day, AYC closing ceremony, Evening of Music and Drama, getting to know awesome people, finding out about the existance of HIMYM, finding out that chemistry's my forte, going out of my house more and out with friends.

All these things makes up for a good year. No matter how grammatically wrong that sounded. I feel satisfied (heh) at the end of this year. Didn't matter that I got suaned a hell lot but it was fun. I've seen a few relationships being made and broken. I think that if a sitcom was made about my life, it would be really boring, but if it's about the lives of the people around me, it's gonna be awesome.

Fell in love and out of love time and time again. Haha feels funny talking about love. I'm just not the kind. Those stressful moments in this year, SYF and stuff, turned out incredible. The feeling after our Gold with Honors was declared was weird, a mixture of disbelief and ecstasy, however you spell that word. No overseas trip this year but it's okay, Olomouc was quite enough.

I'm not really the type to reflect on my years or whatever, but it gives me a good feeling in the end. So a high five to all everybody that I know, 'cause life is awesome.

300!

Eh coolass 300th post.

I've been going out too much lately haha. Let's start from last week

FLASHBACKFLASHBACKFLASHBACKFLASHBACKFLASHBACKFLASHBACK

Wednesday
Played soccer in school for 2 hours from like 10 to 12. Played against 3E people and we (3H & 3J) were beaten quite badly. Then we (Cedric, Roy, Kesavan, Samuel, Marcus, Farhan and I) went to parkway to eat. Ate macs and got quite of handful of suan thrown at me. Then tried one of those flash mob style pranks where you do stuff together and stuff. Whatever. We tried getting people to look somewhere by looking in that direction. Didn't work 'cause Singaporeans are so busy. Haha. Farhan told us that his school and this other school had a match and they led 3-0. Then the other school fought back and the final score was like, 3-5. Haha the curse of the Eunos primary.

Then after that, Farhan (or Samuel?) kept bugging us to go to roxy. We were like 'it's useless' so we went to Cedric's house instead. Showed off some of my awesome skills with the guitar (kidding). Then played Fifa '05. The winning awesome team was of course, Cedric and I. Losers gets kicked out so we were playing the whole time. First time was like, what, 5-1? Then 3-1. And then 2-1. And then Marcus and someone I forgot played (kesavan). They led 3-0 in the first half. Then we scored and turned the tables. 3-4. Ultimate man. Guess what. It's kinda like the Eunos primary story, so kesavan blamed farhan for his loss and wished that he never told that story.

Thursday

In a nutshell.
-Cycled with Rifdi & Husain
-Lagged

That's it. Oh and I got sunburnt. Nyaw.

Friday

Played soccer again but this time at the Opera Estate place there. Quite fun. Played until 6 o clock. Then we headed to Tampines Mall to get some food. Ate at Kopitiam. Nyeh awesome Indonesian BBQ. Whee.

Oh then we decided to catch a movie. After like half of us pulled out (heh) 'cause of various unforeseen reasons, it was down to me, ronald, yujian, cheng hong, cedric and stanson. Cheng Hong was extremely reluctant 'cause he claims that Cartoons are not his stuff. But I swear I could hear him laugh during the movie.

had a good laugh afterwards looking at the people wearing the 3D glasses. They looked so funny.
This week

Monday monday what happened hmm. Oh yeah. Followed Rifdi to gather his es7. Gather? I mean collect. Went to the One Raffles something and waited for like an hour or so for the person to finish his meeting. Sung a few songs while waiting. Fine we were singing all the time. Then this guy went down and gave Rifdi the ES7 and started talking about ibassos. Didn't get their Audiophilic talk.

So walked down Citylink mall with es7s on. Rifdi wearing his black one and I wore my white one. Mirrors galore.

Tuesday was Shaf's birthday thingy. Went down to HMV to get CDs and stuff. After we got CDs and T-shirts, we waited for Rifdi. Played with the PS3 and the 360 while waiting. I predicted Arsenal's loss by losing 2-0 against tottenham dang. I got Bowling for Soup's "The Great Burrito Extortion Case", which is totally awesome. Shaft got a Blink 182 shirt and a CD and Clive got a Gears of War 2 T shirt. Sol bought the second gen limited edition ONTO O: Gold, man.

Then we went to Jaben to get Shaft's Quattros. He not only got a quattro, but also a Beyer DT231. According to Rifdi it's awesome. Just yesterday Shaft said it was orgasmic. Hahaha. After that we ate at KFC. Took a while to decide what to eat.

During the whole encounter clive kept getting, ahem, caressed by hazwan. Future pedophile? Meh.

Wedneday. What happened on wednesday? Oh oh that's yesterday. During the whole intensive Mother tongue lesson we stacked scrabble tiles. Before that, Zameer and I played a rather interesting game of scrabble. I mean really funny. I should really put the picture here.

After that I met up with Thishanth and nicklim to go jamming. It was like horrible. After figuring out the song myself using my awesome powers, I taught the bassist. Learn damn fast. Haha nicklim got stuck teaching the two guitarists. Anyway I think nicklim is really horrible when it comes to playing rock songs. Stick with classical, hamster.

Today?

There was the crosscountry thingy. Spent the waiting time making fun of YingLiang, getting cheap entertainment and cheaper one (middle finger style haha). They kept throwing leaves at me. Ha ha make fun of my name will you.

OH when the mass run was about to start, Ismail tied my shoelaces together like DAMN tight. I took it to Ting Yao haha and using his long fingernails, he took it apart. Whee.

After the whole thing, I went for the financial literacy interview. The *homo* caucasian guy interviewed us. Gave us a few questions that were impossible to answer correctly.

Comm meeting after that. Spent like 15 minutes in the hostel and talked about stuff. Then we proceeded to go to Mr Kwei's house. Haha unexpected turn of events.

We spent like 2 hours planning choir camp and then Jialok asked Mr Kwei about rhapsody.

I'm just really tired right now so the post might be kinda messy. But I like messy.

Bep bop

It had long dawned me that a lot of songs, around 65% of them, are based on personal experience. Country music and those acousticy stuff are the biggest offender. Well, you can't call that an offence. A lot of rock songs put these into metaphorical lyrics and fancy poetic stuff. Raps basically talk about the same 3 things and pop songs too.

Maybe the reason I like old songs is 'cause there's a lot of diversity in them. With the exclusion of the ramones (drugs, women) and Green Day (same thing), it contains way more things than if you compare it to the likes of the much obviously titled womanizer by the artist who had a real sad life.

But I shall not comment about musical tastes 'cause I know it's one of those sensitive things like religion. I'm serious! You don't know how pissed people get when their favorite band gets dissed. Well, I had to live with this for a while 'cause nobody likes My Chem except for those crazy fangirls, which we real fans ttly despise.

--

Man I'm not quite happy with a lot of stuffs in my life. I can't seem to get things right. Well until fasting ends (next week), I'd be too dehydrated to do anything after school in school, and probably will fall asleep at home after waiting 20 minutes in the searing hot sun for that lousy bus that never come on time. Well I do try. The library's quite a nice place. But when you smell like old socks and your tongue is drier than likeen's joke, it may not always be the case.

But I must really hit the books. A lot of things forgotten for both maths, nothing's going into my head for physics and I'm barely passing my humans.

Owh I got meself a twitter account. Because it's cool like that. Nah I'm not gonna update it often, just to see what david blaine is up to. He's quite BAMF.

Oh! Oh! The intro for choir for EMD really ticks me off, since they did say "One of the best in singapore". They didn't consider the supermegaubercool JC choirs lor. Ah well. Oh yeah and their pronounciation for occhi is as written. Or "O Oh-chee Man-za me-a". Haha.

We had to do this silly choreo for Come Go with me. Even if aaron says it's quite nice, he DID come up with that finger wagging thing. I'm sure what's gonna happen is that half the people aren't gonna really do it, like only half-heartedly. Oh and laughing. We're not supposed to laugh on stage but it's really hard. Geez. But if the audience is as shell headed as some people, they should be okay with it. Meh and our fascinating and unique black long sleeve shirt and different colored tie is so unique. Hurr.

Sometimes I just wanna listen to music. Foo Fighters rock. Go listen to them.

ED-FREAKING-DIT: No more justice in this world. Just media.

More proof on this media thing is in moosebutter's article about America's got talent. I've been quite a big fan of the a capella group, and that article made me not want to watch tv ever (Except maybe for conan o' brien and sitcoms).

Who's moosebutter you ask? Well they're a musical group, best known for singing "John Williams is the Man", a song that's made up of the different songs from movies that John Williams wrote music for. Lyrics centred around star wars. The song was made popular by Corey Vidal, who lip-synced to the video and posted it up on the net (which is basically another example of this media thingy, everybody crediting Vidal for singing the whole thing but I just find that with his voice, he couldn't do it).

I'm not gonna tell you all the whole story, but basically they didn't get in because America's Got Talent just wants people who they could market.

To all you people interested (and you should be), read the whole report here by Mistertim from moosebutter. It opens your eyes.

Fair phyllis

Locals hitting on a tourist.

Prac today was okay. Pasigin is quite a nice song to listen to, but a hell to sing. It's even worse than pokpok! I mean at first sight. Now pokpok is damn fun to sing. And singing it while you can't drink is hell too. I mean with all the high notes and all. Grr.

Geez these days I'm so packeed. I just want to sleep at home. Hadn't had a free da- fine there was tuesday but I spent the whole day playing winning eleven instead of sleeping so heckk. Hmm hmm. Tomorrow there is EMD practice and normal prac on saturday. Ooh cool I'll sleep on sunday. Hm sunday's cool.

Okay it's 8 pm and I haven't taken a bath. Shouldn't procrastinate.

I'll take a bath at 8.30. Yeah. Cool.

La-wasteoftime-la la la

Wow things have been a waste of time recently. So there is this Army open house thingy I had to go with 3I people on thursday 'cause I couldn't go for it today 'cause I've got friday prayers and stuff. It was really boring. I mean no offence to 3I peeps you guys are great together but I couldn't enjoy it if it weren't with my own class lah. I'm sure if I went today I could kill so much more time. Arrrrr.

hm what else happened. Got back my results. My L1R5 is 18. Must really buck up for SA2. I think my humans need work. Scratch that everything needs work. When holiday finishes. I promise. No procrastination here.

hm hm so what was it today oh yeah. EMD confusion. Jialok wants a few people in for EMD... i don't. Well 'cause that guy (CHIACHINHOWE) doesn't care about choir. Don't think he deserves it lah. And we're overflowing with tenors. Geeeezzz.

That's it basically.

Oh yeah.

nevermind.

goodbye people!

Art of...Misdirection

I'm not gonna ramble about how I never blog anymore. I've decided to keep this blog as a type of ocassional output when i really have something to say, or really bored and have something to say.

So Alex left a few weeks ago. It was really sad that he left, now I have no one to do magic to or teach me magic. But the farewell thing at eastcoast was puh-retty rad okay. Check out my facebook for the 6 languages thing, Junda was unstoppable with his hokkien man! There was a lot of hypering and stuff, really one of the few times I get to laugh like crazy. Also the only time I could laugh like hell in a foodcourt. Hahaha Zhongwei and his monkey language.

And then there were checking of scripts and stuff. Failed physics, the second time I actually failed something. My Bio is Just passed and for some god forsaken reason I got A1 for my chem (MY CHEM WHOO). I swear to god some people mark with bias one lor. I am sure some people could speak better than said people. Dang lah, this means that I must fix my attitude otherwise teachers will just get pissed while marking my work and spot every single mistake that I do, even if the rest of the world is doing it too.

Oh geez I sound so simple plan-ish. That's not good.

Just passed SS paper. Russell and Amos are crazy people, 24/25 for SS. Sadly Russell had to leave for Australia. Which kinda sucks. Emaths was pretty good, since there was only one test and I was lucky enough to get marks even after skimming through. And even though she might be pretty naggy, the trainee teacher for Emaths whosenameIfailedtolearn was good enough to chase me to the end of the earth for my homework. If that didn't happen maybe I'll get like b3 for Emaths. Amaths was average nothing special. I got 3rd in class for Malay D: (Out of 12 people). Just barely made A1. It's my compo. I've got to fix some things.

My L1R5 should hover between 17 and 19, depending on my Amaths score, which I forgot.

I am going to actually study a few weeks earlier for SA2. I only studied like what 1 week earlier for SA1? I need to do that so I could even out the time and so that it doesn't get compressed and you spent 1 day before your bio exam making notes which you don't even read. So when school reopens after the holidays, I will study. I WILL.

Hmm hmm let's see what is next.

Ah choir.

Singing while fasting is really tiring. I think my most tiring days come not from when I have PE but those days which I have choir. I just wanna faaiiint. I mean sure I could hyper a bit less but what's the fun of that? Oh I heard that the MOE performance was quite bad and some people (AHEMJUSTINGOHCHONGJUAHEM) were being a pussy and all and made bad comments and stuff. I don't think that's the way justin no it's not. And if you start with that "Sorry lah someone noob lah" thing I make sure I get people to whack you. Justin you attentionwhore.

I think david blaine is really awesome. Yeah his dive of death was kinda crap but his street magic is quite the awesome. I like how people always look where magicians want them to look, and not realize that their watch is missing. Hohoho.

Oh yeah oh yeah teacher's day. It is quite the BAMF. Went home after buying Mirrors (the cards, not the object) from kallang leisure park. Slept for like 5 minutes at home. Ran out to get a taxi to Bukit View. Went in and saw chunn hay. And then got dragged by people to mosh outside the HOD room, waiting for the teachers that are eating to get out. Then we realized that they're not coming out anytime soon so we went upstairs to the library. The librarian wasn't there D: Then Zhi Sheng and Gaby joined us. Walked around the school. Then saw Mrs Lee (Ms Tan O:). She treated the people drinks! I WANNA BUY DRINKS. But i'm fasting so nabil decided to come and share the suffering with me. Mwahahaha. Everybody was surprised at how much he's changed over the 3 years. Well not me since I saw him last year. Then went back to school and had a long talk session with everyone. Quite fun. Then they decided to go for dinner. Since i live in the east and was fasting, I had no choice but to go home if I don't wanna die of temptation.

Oh yeahh EMD. Husref's supposed to see what we can do thus far tomorrow, but since we NEVER actually practiced for EMD (since we chose the pro people) I guess it doesn't matter. I am hurrying the choir people to practice, but I guess that's just impossible. Since things are so much more important. Right.

These days I'm getting Way bored. So if you see me online on MSN, just talk to me. Please. :D

EDIT
you know I'm kinda into these magic stuff...and to continue from the previous disneyland proposal, here's street magic proposal (NOTE: Proposal's at the end, although the magic is cool)

Ho ho ho

Yes to all you werenotinthisalone.blogspot.com readers, the poster had come back to life!

Dear god how long has it been? 2 weeks without a post. Awesome huh. No joke.

So I've been doing lots of weird stuff recently, card magic, buying lots of cards. Buying books (O:). Procrastination is the true form of sloth. I mean two weeks ago, I decided to stay back at school whenever possible (e.g: no choir etc) to study. I realize that there are so many things going on, I just can't do that. So in the the weekends, I decided to study, but after coming home from choir, I just blanked out on my bed and slept till the next day. I know it's bad, but I'm trying to avoid it.

So many things happening for choir, and i don't think recycling songs are good for the choir. It becomes repetitive and boring. I believe I can fly. Don't think any of them believes that anymore (or even in the first place). By the end of August, we'd have performed that song thrice. Speech day, AYC closing and Teacher's day. Though each with a different style, speech day with the band, AYC with cheng kan on piano and the MOE thing a capella, it's just not right. And Jialok, next time you arrange easier for altos. D<

But You raise me up sounds quite nice. Surprisingly, unlike most English songs, all the parts sounds nice. Yes, even the altos (ho ho ho dissing). If that song was performed correctly I tell you it just makes your hair stand on ends.

Next is EMD. Got a small group of 16 to perform. Two songs a capella, which also means that Junyew won't be conducting. First time the choir's doing this as far as I know. Which means that if one of the members got nervous and speed up, nobody's there to slow them down. Except for each other uh. Come go with me is confirmed while we're considering Occhi for the other song. Hahaha damn funny. Last prac, the comm stayed back to try out occhi. For some reason we (read: I) can't stop laughing.

CA2 is coming up (EDIT: NEXT WEEK) and I haven't started revision. I think revision for SA1 was quite successful. My class's Physics is 1 chapter behind, Emaths 2 chapter behind. I think if I don't study myself, my grades will drop and from what i learnt from sec 1 and 2, every assesment matters. Which reminded me that I didn't do the Malay TFU. And kefahaman. Just hope that Cikgu doesn't read this blog.

Anyway I watched Singapore Idol yesterday, vomited blood when the 'Avril Lavigne' came out. Compared to American idol, this is quite dull. Haven't seen any outstanding ones. Oh and I don't think anyone gets the Krauser thing. Not enough people read/watch DMC. Go!

The problem with a lot of teachers is that they take things too personally. I mean that's just what I think. Like if a student misbehaves, some of them might or will think that they're doing that 'cause they don't like the teacher. Well sometimes we talk in class because we're bored. I mean it might be your fault, but we're not doing it to solely piss the educator off. I know we're not supposed to be talking in the first place but if the punishment is decided on assumed bias, then it's unfair to the students. Just saying.

'Cause it's really a rushed post (packing for tomorrow's closing ceremony aarghh), the content is really in a chaotic order.

I promise that I'll change the blog's skin (2 people complaining! Ismail and Chiang). Also might do a list tomorrow. Yeah that's fun. I lost all my programs, so I can't photoshop or use Guitar Pro. I'll curl up with my cards and do magic tricks. Woo!

DEARGAWD

I really want to write a nice long post about stuff. I do, honest. But I'm really tired from choir. Actually I'm tired from sorting vest and ties that JOSHUA CHIA took out and doesn't wanna take responsibility for. Ah well.

Holy Shyatz Alif Posted

hello world.

A lot of things has happened after my last (real) post, including handover. So let's start with that.
Handover was unexpected, was kinda surprised when they announced that that saturday was handover. Somehow I think the previous one was bigger, I mean grand since there was so much hype beforehand and all the "Tomorrow's a special day!" announcement by all the comm members. Don't think anybody expected that day to be handover. So after Ms Lau told the new comm about stuff they should and should not do (Likeen, don't influence Jonathan Loh), I went to Ryan to get some "advice". He was there with tingzhou.

[Ryan]: The only thing you need to know is to learn how to slack.

grrrhhh. I don't think so. Haha. I like working I don't know why. Like tiny little things like actually arranging scores alphabetically. Maybe with me acting all OCD and stuff, Records Manager is the right post for me.

Read the comm meeting book. I'm supposed to be vicechair? Hahahaha.

--

A lot of friends from Indonesia has been visiting me this past week. But me having no friends, 'A lot of friends' means two of them. One is sleeping in my house and the other just visited for like 5 hours.

--

After choir prac on thursday, went out with Justin, Douglas, JChia, YaoSheng and Rifdi to parkway. Ate macs there and after that yaosheng left. Then we went to inQbox inAbox (Thanks yougene) to buy cards. Haha Reef bought one 'Mirror' deck and I got 'Smoke'. They're like opposite colors. His is majority black while mine is white. I also bought a seconds deck, like defunct cards. I opened it and saw one of them ripped. Oh well, what d'you expect from $4.50

Then followed Rifdi to Simlim tower to buy his wires and jack. For some reason, after all the walking, I felt unusually tired. As in, really tired. That kind of feeling you have after a long run while you're fasting. Grrr. Went home and ripped Siamese Dream into my comp. It's a really awesome album. I mean, nothing can top heavy guitars and whiny singing. Nothing I tell you.

Go listen to Mayonaise by Smashing Pumpkins. It's genius.

To Jonteo: The reason I've not been posting is 'cause there's nothing to post about.

Now for some refreshing picture.

IT'S JUSTIN, THE DOG-RIDING MONKEY!

Good Morning

Ok guys, and girls maybe. I'll sum it up real quick. Life is too fast.
Way too fast.

I remember sec one, two and all my primary school days going very slow. This is way too fast. I mean it's SA1 already. It seemed like yesterday I got accepted into 3J, slept for the first physics lesson and Ms Tan going "I wanna settle some admin stuff". But it's too quick.

Anyway here's a few thing.

Penang trip is cancelled. Supposedly 'cause of lack of Sops and Swine flu. But most prolly lack of Sops, since it's kinda harder to get swiney in Penang than in SG. But it's a huge bummer, since the only big thing my batch is gonna do is prolly Rhapsody, or maybe a trip next year. My batch's comm might not even get a photo of them sitting in the front row unlike '08-09 comm who get to sit there twice but that's not the deal here. Maybe we'll have a November camp, and an intensive march camp. But this year's comm is missing out on a lot of stuff. But it's nobody's fault.

Anyway, on the IP thing. Lots of potential-leader sec 2s are applying for IP. Shall not mention names. But I think the hate on IP is not good. It's their choice. But if I were them, I'd stay. Well most people who wanna go IP either don't want to take O levels or are "interested in IP's curriculum". But if you wanna see chiobus then don't come VS ar (=P kidding). Go if you want to go, but I won't support you (and maybe I'll burn your house using my zippo O:)

Hmm SS tomorrow. I should really be mugging. Keep mixing up stuff. Actually I know all the content but I don't know how to answer the question. And Ron Tan didn't teach us how to link which, according to Likeen and YongYang, might get me penalized. REALLY should be mugging now but since my dear Ex-SL Mr Teo MengKiat asked me to update, so I'm updating.

Here's the list of subjects I haven't finish studying:
Biology
Emaths
Amaths
Chemistry
Physics
Geography.

Which is basically everything except for SS, English and MT. I could maybe swerve just over a pass if I don't start studying but I should. Leave me alone pingpong!! Impulse control babeh.

Another issue is on friends. Get real. I have no real friends. Yeah maybe classmates who I talk to once in a while but they're more of 'acquaintance' rather than friends. Call me adolescent call me young but this is true. Maybe one or two friends talk to me more oftenly than others but that's it. I have no one to turn to to talk about my troubles. But I'm in choir right? I should have friends in choir.

Yeah that's what I thought but they proved me wrong. I only do stuff to people if they offend me. Hendrik you were this close from getting punched.

Wow

in 1 day it's all gone.

Had my fun in VSchoir. Gold with honors for last SYF! nothing else to lose!

like Johnnie said, for the sec 3s, take this SYF not as an end, but as a new beggining for our journey in VSchoir. The next committee will be leading in the next AVoS.

Keep it up. Keep me up.

My

My my. SYF is tomorrow. The reality and logic behind SYF is stupid. Why spend 6 months practicing, only for that 5+ minutes on stage?

Because it feels good.

Ok gonna do a real update now about life and stuff, which I never actually do 'cause I don't think people will find my life interesting and how everything I blog about is in other people's blog. Will divide the stuff into three sections, Blog, School and Choir, in order of amount of content.

'Cause I've got OCD and I like it.

BLOG

Ever since the sec 3 camp, I really had no mood to blog, in other words, lazy. Also my skin (blogskin, duh) is getting boring so I shall change it soon. Gonna aim for bold colors this time, since I've been to subtle lately. Also, not only me but other people seem to be blogging less and less. I don't know why.
I've decided to not read blogs I'm not supposed to read. Well partially because people you don't know don't want you to read their blogs and I always have this urge to tag on that blog.

SCHOOL

Wow heck sec 3 life is more hectic than what I expected. At the start of the year, I decided not to slack anymore and actually study and do my homework. Well, that's not the case right now. Like everyone, my homework is snowballing. Especially maths homework. There's like 3 exercises, two of which are annoying steady hand graph questions which I totally hate.

Class deco is going quite nicely, although nobody wants to help do it and the simple task of cedric doing some vectoring on the white paper was said to "liven up the classroom" according to Ms Tan.

My L1R5 for last term was 11. Which means that I need to study more and facebook less. x_x. See if I can narrow it down to 1 digit for SA1. Although with all this crap about kinematics, I doubt it'd be easy for physics. Bio is also tough since Mr munir's going so quickly. Oh no I haven't started on the workbook. NAPFA season is around, which means more failing for standing broad jump and 2.4 for me. Malay is quite easy and chem is enjoyable. But everything about SS just wouldn't get into my head, principles what the hell.

Sometimes I wish that school is shorter. And why the hell am I studying SS anyway? Those Source Based questions is really annoying. I was glad that it left me after History last year but it struck back as SS. And not being unappreciative or anything but I don't see the point of studying about another country. I've learnt enough history about this country but not my own. I'd rather take SS about Indonesia than Singapore, since I need it more. Not that I have anything against singapore but I don't see a point in me doing it.

In conclusion school's not really the funnest thing in my life right now. I'll tell you what is.

CHOIR

To sum it up real quick, the choir has definitely improving and SYF is 4 days and 13 hours away.

Before the sec 3 camp, there was this Gala dinner where we got invited to sing in Ritz Carlton. One of the funnest moments before SYF, and a really relaxed performance. Although they stated that the dinner was worth 150 bucks, it tastes like hawker centre food. 'Cause I got the halal meal. Some people need to get that halal doesn't mean malay. I wanna eat chinese food too! Sung Iddem Dem Malida and Any Dream will do. With the (pro) Chengkan 'sight reading' any dream will do. Then sung the really weird victorian anthem. Don't smile! And Mr aw yong was like "I think it's in C major...wait F major" hahaha. The pianist plays some weird intro and none of us knew when to come in. So I just shutup until someone makes noise haha.

After the sec 3 camp, there was prac on monday. We went out for bowling. Originally we wanted to play in marine cove but there was some tournament thing so the lanes couldn't be booked until like 6. So we walked to burger king and ate there. When I reached BK, my throat was already killing me. I regret buying (and upsizing) barley, since I can't finish it 'cause of my throat. Then we went to Kallang leisure park to bowl. Eugene ownd us all.

But as I expected, I fell sick in the nights o I didn't go for that workshop with Mark Anthony, which according to many people, we didn't do well in. Must be 'cause I wasn't there. 1 lifeline gone. The rest of the week is just preparation for the saturday performance. Then came saturday's performance. A few choirs performed before us, including TKSS. It was my first time listening to their songs and I was like "ok...". Then sat beside Rifdi and his mat jacket.

Then came our turn. All I could see was bright light and the conductor's face. If I can remember our mundi was horrendous and our kucinta was ok. Then I went for friday prayers with rifdi while Johnlee and gang went to borders to read stuff. Johnlee's gang then went back to VJC to watch the second half choirs, which includes the JC choir. So me and Rifdi went there in the rain, lucky i got umbrella.

Went there, waited for the song to end and sat with johnlee and gang. Realized that the com is on the other side. Then Johnlee keep making sick remarks about the way clement was, ahem, "touching" his girlfriend. Fuhua's Pusikam song. Then there was commonwealth with their Echoey Yakobin. and Cat high with their Hana. We were starting to realize that it's not easy to get that Gold with honors. Then the joke about the commonwealth girl sitting directly in front of me and me opening my leg a liiittle too wide. Sherman conducted VJChoir. Cool.

The next week was I think the testing of the VCH. That was one of the only time when I felt the feeling of the white horse. I think the second time we sang it, the image came alive. But it was gone for the rest of the 2 hours. Mundi and Kucinta was good for a bit but it started to dull 'cause a lot of people were tired. Haha the way the pianist, Mr Chew I think, played during warmups was quite cool. With the chords during kucinta. On the way back the tenors (as always) are quite emo. Jun Yew emo 'cause of something caused by his absence during the march holidays and Rifdi pondering over his new love ♥

That same saturday (I think) was a 'friendly encounter' with TKchoir. Mass warmups was, I felt, Competitive. Because of this the sound was really raw and everyone's oversinging. Then performance time. Constant reminders NOT to do the choreo for Kucinta. Everybody was scared listening to their songs. And someone headbutted me on my shoulder. Geez.

With every practice comes an improvement. Although it may be little.

Then came the NYJC performance. After the mass warmups, NYJ choir sung. We immediately realized that the hall sucked balls so we came prepared. There were around 10 schools there. A few from the previous VJ performance. Mundi really sped up. With Joshua Chia oversinging beside me and everyone a little excited, our mundi sped up. And as usual the feeling won't be there if our timing isn't perfect. Kucinta was nice, with the audience laughing at our choreography. You know you made an impact when other people are singing your songs after the performance. (I heard a few miao here and there)

After that was TKchoir. I heard they didn't really put in effort for the second piece. Heard, I can't confirm the status. Not really much difference from their last performance. Second half had commonwealth and Cat High. Commonwealth sounded better there than on yesterday's performance. And cat high's first chord raised hairs. Talked a lot after that. Aaron gave scolded us for not performing that well, then Myo told me he's pissed with aaron for doing that. Tenor sectionals back in school. Half the tenors ate fried food (including me =P)

Then sectionals came. Enning spilt water on the floor. The hatred begins. I can see that Rifdi's really pissed with Enning. Yea me too but I can't show it. Even if I show it, they won't take me seriously. I've got to straighten up that kid.

The next week, this week, morning practice begun. Had one on wednesday. I remember during 2007 SYF we had morning practice like everyday for like 2 weeks before SYF. Compared to '07, there is much less stress this year.

Then came yesterday's performance. The four schools (Catholic High, Tanjong Katong, Victoria, Commonwealth) lined up. While waiting for Mr Chew to come, there was mass massaging. TK didn't do it 'cause they were in quartet, thus the risk of a bra being unbuttoned. Haha competed with cat high, unofficially, on who can chop the loudest.

We performed according to the days we are going to perform on the SYF period. Commonwealth started first. Being so close to the stage and the hall being dry, I can hear their mistakes quite clearly. Then we went up. We were screaming and speeding up during mundi, despite telling joshua not to oversing. TKchoir sung and me and Justin was trying to spot Joshua's alleged girlfriend. Not much difference from the last time. Same as cat high. Performance concluded with Mr Kwei saying that Cat high was the most stable in this performance. Went to parkway with Rifdi and Eugene afterwards and met up with the three sec 3 sops after that. Sat in borders while they ate reading MFK. Went home early so as not to be late for tuition.

Only 4 days and 10 minutes left to SYF. Let's make awesome music and make everyone proud.

Choir

With SYF drawing near and me getting lazier and lazier to post an actually decent and contentfully wonderful post, here's a post about choir, koped from cctay.blogspot and posted there about two years ago. This, so far, is the most complete version of the text.

For choir people, you know all these are true. Don't deny it.

"In any chorus, there are four voice parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Sometimes these are divided into first and second within each part, prompting endless jokes about first and second basses. There are also various other parts such as baritone, countertenor, contralto, mezzo soprano, etc., but these are mostly used by people who are either soloists, or belong to some excessively hotshot classical a cappella group (this applies especially to countertenors), or are trying to make excuses for not really fitting into any of the regular voice parts, so we will ignore them for now. Each voice part sings in a different range, and each one has a very different personality. You may ask, "Why should singing different notes make people act differently?", and indeed this is a mysterious question and has not been adequately studied, especially since scientists who study musicians tend to be musicians themselves and have all the peculiar complxes that go with being tenors, french horn players, timpanists, or whatever. However, this is beside the point; the fact remains that the four voice parts can be easily distinguished, and I will now explain how...

The SOPRANOS are the ones who sing the highest, and because of this they think they rule the world. They have longer hair, fancier jewellery, and swishier skirts than anyone else, and they consider themselves insulted if they are not allowed to go at least to a high F in every movement of any given piece. When they reach the high notes, they hold them for at least half again as long as the composer and/or conductor requires, and then complain that their throats are killing them and that the composer and conductor are sadists. Sopranos have varied attitudes toward the other sections of the chorus, though they consider all of them inferior. Altos are to sopranos rather like second violins to first violins - nice to harmonise with, but not really necessary. All sopranos have a secret feeling that the altos could drop out and the piece would sound essentially the same, and they don't understand why anybody would sing in that range in the first place - it's so boring. Tenors, on the other hand, can be very nice to have around; besides their flirtation possibilities (it is a well-known fact that sopranos never flirt with basses), sopranos like to sing duets with tenors because all the tenors are doing is working very hard to sing in a low-to-medium soprano range, while the sopranos are up there in the stratosphere showing off. To sopranos, basses are the scum of the earth - they sing too damn loud, are useless to tune because they're down in that low, low range - and there has to be something wrong with anyone who sings in the F clef, anyway.

Top Ten Reasons for Being a Soprano:
1. The rest of the choir exists just to make you look good.
2. You can entertain your friends by breaking their wineglasses.
3. Can you name an opera where an alto got the man?
4. When sopranos want to sing in the shower, they know the tune.
5. It's not like you are ever going to sing the alto part by accident.
6. Great costumes - like the hat with the horns on it.
7. How many world famous altos can you name?
8. When the fat lady sings, she's usually singing soprano.
9. When you get tired of singing the tune, you can sing the descant.
10. You can sing along with Michael Jackson.

The ALTOS are the salt of the earth - in their opinion, at least. Altos are unassuming people, who would wear jeans to concerts if they were allowed to.Altos are in a unique position in the chorus in that they are unable to complain about having to sing either very high or very low, and they know that all the other sections think their parts are pitifully easy. But the altos know otherwise. They know that while the sopranos are screeching way on a high A, they are being forced to sing elaborate passages full of sharps and flats and tricks of rhythm, and nobody is noticing because the sopranos are singing too loud (and the basses usually are too). Altos get a deep, secret pleasure out of conspiring together to tune the sopranos flat. Altos have an innate distrust of tenors, because the tenors sing in almost the same range and think they sound better. They like the basses, and enjoy singing duets with them - the basses just sound like a rumble anyway, and it's the only time the altos can really be heard. Altos' other complaint is that there are always too many of them and so they never get to sing really loud.

Top Ten Reasons for Being an Alto:
1. You get really good at singing E flat.
2. You get to sing the same note for 12 consecutive measures.
3. You don't really need to warm up to sing 12 consecutive bars of E-flat.
4. If the choir really stinks, it's unlikely the altos will be blamed.
5. You have lots of time to chat during soprano solos.
6. You get to pretend that you are better than the sopranos, because everybody knows that women only sing soprano so they don't have to learn to read music.
7. You can sometimes find part time work singing tenor.
8. Altos get all the great intervals.
9. When the sopranos are holding some outrageously high note at the end of a song, the altos always get the last words.
10. When the altos miss a note, nobody gets hurt.

The TENORS are spoiled. That's all there is to it. For one thing, there are never enough of them, and choir directors would rather sell their souls than let a halfway decent tenor quit, while they're always ready to unload a few altos at half price. And then, for some reason, the few tenors are always really good - it's one of those annoying facts of life. So it's no wonder that tenors always get swollen heads - after all, who else can make sopranos swoon? The one thing that can make tenors insecure is the accusation (usually by the basses) that anyone singing that high couldn't possibly be a real man.. In their usual perverse fashion, the tenors never acknowledge this, but just complain louder about the composer being a sadist and making them sing so damn high. Tenors have a love-hate relationship with the conductor, too, because the conductor is always telling them to sing louder because there are so few of them. No conductor in recorded history has ever asked for less tenor in a forte passage. Tenors feel threatened in some way by all the other sections - the sopranos because they can hit those incredibly high notes; the altos because they have no trouble singing the notes the tenors kill themselves for; and the basses because, although they can't sing anything above an E, they sing it loud enough to drown the tenors out. Of course, the tenors would rather die than admit any of this. It is a little-known fact that tenors move their eyebrows more than anyone else while singing.

Top Ten Reasons for Being a Tenor:
1. Tenors get high - without drugs.
2. Name a musical where the bass got the girl.
3. You can show the sopranos how it SHOULD be sung.
4. Did you ever hear of anyone paying $1000 for a ticket to see 'The three Basses?'
5. Who needs brains when you've got resonance?
6. Tenors never have to waste time looking through the self-improvement section of the bookstore.
7. You get to sing along with John Denver singing "Aye Calypso."
8. When you get really good at falsetto, you can make tons of money doing voice-overs for cartoon characters.
9. Gregorian chant was practically invented for tenors. Nobody invented a genre for basses.
10. You can entertain your friends by impersonating Julia Child.

The BASSES sing the lowest of anybody. This basically explains everything. They are stolid, dependable people, and have more facial hair than anybody else. The basses feel perpetually unappreciated, but they have a deep conviction that they are actually the most important part (a view endorsed by musicologists, but certainly not by sopranos or tenors), despite the fact that they have the most boring part of anybody and often sing the same note(or in endless fifths) for an entire page. They compensate for this by singing as loudly as they can get away with - most basses are tuba players at heart. Basses are the only section that can regularly complain about how low their part is, and they make horrible faces when trying to hit very low notes. Basses are charitable people, but their charity does not extend so far as tenors, whom they consider effete poseurs. Basses hate tuning the tenors more than almost anything else. Basses like altos - except when they have duets and the altos get the good part. As for the sopranos, they are simply in an alternate universe which the basses don't understand at all. They can't imagine why anybody would ever want to sing that high and sound that bad when they make mistakes. When a bass makes a mistake, the other three parts will cover him, and he can continue on his merry way, knowing that sometime, somehow, he will end.

Top Ten Reasons for Being a Bass:
1. You don't have to tighten your shorts to reach your note.
2. You don't have to worry about a woman stealing your job.
3. Or a preadolescent boy stealing your job.
4. Action heroes are always basses. That is - if they ever sang, they would sing bass.
5. You get great memorable lyrics like bop, bop, bop, bop.
6.If the singing job doesn't work out, there's always broadcasting.
7. You never need to learn to read the treble clef.
8. If you get a cold, so what.
9. For fun, you can sing at the bottom of your range and fool people into thinking there's an earthquake.
10. If you belch while you're singing, the audience just thinks it is part of the score. "

Ok I was bored and searched for stuff on flickr and came up with this wonderful image.

Molten earth
by Brent Nelson.

Then i got bored and did

This is kinda the image that I imagine everytime I sing Mundi Renovatio. Then to the end, the earth turns back to its beautiful blue self.

Although when sped up, none of these come up...

MOTIVATE YOURSELF PEOPLE! Only 12 days left to SYF. Do your best. Let's get back our Gold with honors.

Now I know what that hair rising experience that Aaron kept talking about.
If the choir is good, they WILL make hair raise. Make the audience smile and make them think "Wow".

That's what we want.

Mundi Renovatio.
